1. Purpose
Futura Electronics Ltd. Based in Balbriggan Co Dublin is committed to conducting its operations in a responsible and sustainable manner. Operating in the supply and distribution of electronic components and industrial products. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and encouraging sustainable practices within our company and throughout our supply chain.


2. Our Environmental Responsibilities
We take a practical, common-sense approach to our environmental responsibilities:


•Reducing Environmental Footprint: We strive to use energy, water, and materials efficiently in our office and warehouse environments. We are actively reducing emissions by optimising logistics and favouring greener transport options.
• Minimising Waste: We avoid unnecessary packaging and favour recyclable or reusable materials. Across our operations, we promote digital processes to reduce paper use and ensure electronic waste is responsibly recycled.
• Sustainable Sourcing: We assess our suppliers not only on quality and price but also on their environmental practices
• Raising Awareness:  We support and educate our team to make environmentally conscious decisions in everyday work—from switching off equipment to choosing low-impact travel methods.

3. Key Focus Areas


A. Energy & Carbon Emissions
•Reduce office and warehouse energy use by 10% by end-2027
•We prioritise logistics partners with fuel-efficient or low-emission transport fleets.

B. Packaging & Waste
• Wherever possible, reuse packaging materials received from suppliers. We are tracking this to establish measurable targets. Should be completed be end 2025
• Paper use will be reduced by transitioning to digital invoicing and communications.
• All e-waste and obsolete equipment is responsibly recycled through certified vendors.

C. Water Management
• We implement water-saving practices in office kitchen and sanitation facilities.

D. Sustainable Procurement
• 75% of preferred suppliers will be screened for environmental practices by Q2 2026.
• Preference is given to vendors with ISO 14001 or equivalent certifications.
• Committed to supporting our sustainable purchase process for purchasing stationary, paper products, furniture, equipment and IT services.
 
E. Supplier Sustainability Risk Assessment

As part of our environmental strategy, Futura Electronics Ltd. has implemented a supplier assessment process using a Risk Map methodology. This process allows us to:


• Evaluate the environmental and social risks associated with supplier operations, based on sector, geography, activity type and annual spend.
• Prioritise engagement with suppliers operating in higher-risk categories.
• We aim to conduct risk assessments for 75% of our preferred suppliers by Q3 2026


5. Monitoring and Improvement

We will:
• Review this policy annually.
• Set measurable targets and monitor progress.
• Report on progress to key stakeholders and adjust targets where needed.

6. Roles and Responsibilities

The Sustainability Team is responsible for implementing and monitoring this policy. All employees are expected to contribute by applying good environmental practices in their daily activities.


7. Stakeholder Engagement

We communicate this policy to: 
• All employees at induction and refresher training.
• Suppliers, partners, and logistics providers 
• The public and interested parties via our website and upon request.
