Environmental Management and Compliance

We ensure that the products we supply meet recognised environmental standards. The majority of our product portfolio is RoHS and REACH compliant, and all relevant documentation is available to customers on request. Where products fall within the scope of WEEE, we ensure full compliance and payment of the associated fees.

We actively track our waste, water and energy consumption and convert this information into CO₂ metrics to support reporting and performance improvement. We are also undertaking a full energy audit to further strengthen our environmental performance.

Environmental Advocacy and Supply Chain Responsibility

As part of our sustainability commitments, we play an active role in promoting responsible and environmentally sound practices across the supply chain.

Communicating Environmental Expectations to Suppliers

All Purchase Orders issued by Futura Electronics include a direct link to our Supplier Code of Conduct. This ensures that every supplier receives our environmental, social and ethical requirements as part of routine business operations.

Preferred Suppliers are also invited to complete our Sustainability Questionnaire, and their responses are incorporated into our ESG scoring model. This enables us to assess supplier environmental management.
This structured approach allows us to engage proactively with suppliers and encourages continual improvement across our supply chain.

Packaging Reuse and Waste Reduction

A significant proportion of our incoming shipments arrive from overseas, where protective packaging is essential to avoid transit damage. While packaging levels at source cannot always be reduced, we minimise waste within our own operations.

We track all packaging received and reuse between 85 and 90 percent of cartons and suitable materials for outbound shipments. Packaging that cannot be reused is recycled through a licensed waste contractor. This approach reduces waste, supports resource efficiency and demonstrates our commitment to responsible operations.

Supporting Customer Sustainability

We provide customers with accurate and transparent environmental compliance information, including RoHS, REACH and WEEE documentation, for all relevant products. This supports our customers in meeting their own regulatory obligations and sustainability objectives.

Community and Local Engagement

Futura Electronics is proud to support the Balbriggan community. We contribute to local organisations, charities and clubs through sponsorship and fundraising.
